How the comparison works

Pick two or more filaments from the search box above and SpoolScout lines up their published technical data side by side. Every value comes from the manufacturer's technical data sheet, so you are comparing the numbers each brand actually claims rather than marketing copy. Where a brand publishes a range or a per-axis figure, the table shows the range and the radar chart plots the midpoint.

What you can compare

  • Mechanical strength: tensile strength, flexural strength, impact resistance and elongation at break, in the XY plane and along the Z axis where the manufacturer tested both.
  • Stiffness and hardness: Young's modulus, flexural modulus and Shore or Rockwell hardness for flexible and rigid materials.
  • Heat resistance: glass transition temperature, Vicat softening point, heat deflection temperature and melt temperature.
  • Print settings: recommended nozzle and bed temperatures, print speed, cooling and drying advice.
  • Price: the latest Amazon price and the cost per kilogram, so you can weigh performance against budget.

Tips for a fair comparison

Compare materials within the same family first (PLA against PLA, PETG against PETG) and check the testing method column on each product page, because results from ISO 527 and ASTM D638 are not always interchangeable. If a property is blank, the manufacturer did not publish it. You can jump straight from any product page to a comparison using its Compare button, and share a comparison by copying the page URL.
