ASTM D648

ASTM D648 is an American standard that specifies test methods for determining the deflection temperature of plastics under flexural load (heat deflection temperature or HDT).

ASTM D648 provides guidelines on how to measure the temperature at which a plastic material deforms by a specified amount under a given bending load. This test determines the heat deflection temperature (HDT), which indicates the maximum service temperature at which a plastic part can maintain dimensional stability under load.
